Bead Soup ~ What I sent
I made the toggle clasp out of a copper washer. I used my dremel to
texture it then I domed it, tumbled it and made a most awesome patina on
it with heat, then lastly I sealed in the color with spray and wax.
The subtle colors did not come out in the photos. There are splashes of
orange/gold, and green/blue with a little bit of pinkish. That was
fun! I couldn't decide on which focal piece to give so I sent both.
The one on the left in the last photo, I wrapped 24 gauge wire on a
mandrel, then I heated the whole thing up and melted some silver around
the whole thing, so it just peeks out. I then hung a beautiful quartz
crystal that is faceted just on the sides. I had a ball making the one
on the right. That one is a penny I hammered and hammered and
polished. I took my scrap silver and placed it in a pattern on the
penny and heated it and let the silver flow as it wanted. I love the
way it looks. I had such fun doing it I made 2 more. I made the bail
out of copper and put a silver ball in the middle like a nest. I
soldered it on to keep it nice and tight. I made a bunch of these
"nest" things thinking I would make earrings out of them, but I just
keep using them for other things! Maybe one pair will make it to
earrings someday if I don't use them all in other projects. I hope
Elisabeth enjoys all the things she got. I will enjoy seeing what fun
things she will create. I am so excited for the reveal! That will
happen March 3rd.

Sadie's Winning Photo
Sadie is the winner of last weeks Wildcard photo contest with her lovely Fairy Lights photo!
Congrats!! She gets to pick this weeks theme.
Marcus and I came in second in a tie. Marcus choose his photo, Cycle of Life, with his stark and poignant look on winter. That leaves little me, with the close up of an ice sculpture, eloquently named Ice Sculpture.
Sadie has chosen the theme of "shadows" as this weeks photo.
Thanks to all who have voted and hope to see you this Sunday voting when we post this weeks photos.

Pendragon Photo Contest Week 1
We here at Pendragon Cottage love to do photography. We decided to do a weekly photo contest with each of us posting one photo a week on Sundays and the winner would be determined on Monday. The winner each week gets to determine the theme for the following week. This weeks theme was Wild Card. Question was, how to decide who would win? We thought and thought and pondered some more and we came up with a great idea. We are going to leave it up to you! If you would be so kind as to vote on one of the three submissions that would rock! Its a fun, playful contest, it certainly has the potential to motivate those of us here at Pendragon Cottage. Me, of course Sandra of Pendragon Jewelry. Sadie Pendragon the intelligent and talented daughter of you know who. (Of course I have to say these biased comments I am the mom) and last but far from least. The intuitive, insightful philosopher Marcus of the Millennium. Please leave a comment with your vote for Photo A, B or C. Thanks!
Here we go with our 1st entries.

I received an email this chilly morning letting me know who my Bead Soup partner is.
Lori Anderson is just amazing, putting this all together when she was horribly sick with the flu. So happy to say my bead partners name is Elisabeth Auld. She has a beautiful blog at http://www.beadsforbusygals.com. I am quite the excited one with this being my first Bead Soup. It will be fun to see what she will do with the beads and such that I send her. And also a challenge for me to see what my muse will inspire me to do with the goodies she sends me.
